She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Minnesota in 2000. She is also 'Fear Free' Certified!

Dr. Deb Piepgras is the owner of LVH. Deb grew up in Brainerd and graduated from Brainerd High School. She has been back in Brainerd & practicing veterinary medicine since June of 2000. Her favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is the challenge of aiding sick and injured animals that cannot communicate their problems. She spends any spare time with her husband two children, dogs and the variety of outdoor activities that the area has to offer. In her spare time, Dr. Piepgras enjoys working in her many gardens, quilting, reading, camping, fishing and hunting.

Pets

She has 3 Dogs; Oberyn, a Shepherd Mix and Arya and Oscar, both Long-haired Miniature Dachshunds.

Some of you may remember Dr. Melzer from years ago when she was our Boarding Manager. She returned to vet school at the University of Minnesota and earned her DVM in 2010. She is also 'Fear Free' certified!

Areas of Interest

Dr. Melzer was born and raised in New Ulm, MN but truly enjoys living in Lakes Country as she enjoys outdoor activities, (especially fishing, duck hunting, and archery), reading and spending time with family and friends. Her areas of special interest are internal medicine, preventative care, ultrasound, infectious diseases and client education.

Pets

Stacy has two Weimaraners (Hailie and Scout), and two cats (Pickles and Cricket), who were adopted from the Orphan Kitten Project while on vet school.

Meet Dr. Erica! She will be joining our team at Lakeland in January 2017! She Graduated with her DVM from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013.

Areas of Interest

Dr. Erica is from St. Joseph, MN and is excited to move back to Lake Country as she enjoys the many outdoor activities: boating, fishing, camping and hiking. She enjoys spending time with her husband, son and large extended family. She loves traveling and exploring new places and trying new foods. The best part of veterinary medicine for Dr. Erica is helping to support the human-animal bond that is central to people and their companions. She enjoys preventive medicine, internal medicine, infectious/zoonotic disease and pain management.

Dr. Erica has 3 dogs: Luey, (a Doberman) Muskie (a Lab Mix) and Freddy (a Shepard Mix) and 2 cats; Morris and Whitman

Joyce is our Office Manager. She has been at LVH since 1981 (wow!). Her family includes her husband, Kevin, two daughters, Kara & Kandi who are both teachers and one son, Luke, a golf pro in Idaho. Joyce's hobbies include going for walks, outdoor activities and spending time with her family and pets. Her favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is watching owners and their pet's relationships grow through the years.

She has two dogs -Buddy & Sophie, both Golden Retrievers and Paddy, her cat.

Areas of Interest

Stacy is our receptionist. She joined us in 2004 as an assistant and soon made the move to the reception area. Her family includes her husband, Slade. Stacy enjoys reading, cooking, horseback riding and scrap booking in her spare time. Her favorite aspect of veterinary care is watching families bond with their new puppies/kittens. It's rewarding to see the relationship between pets and their families grow. I also love getting to know the young animals myself. It's so fun to watch them learn about the world they live in and see them become a part of their new family.

She attended the University of Minnesota, Waseca to obtain her Veterinary Technician degree. She is also 'Fear Free' certified!

Areas of Interest

Kathy joined LVH in June of 1998 as one of our Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVT) and is now the Lead Technician. Her family includes her husband, Brian, their daughter Emily, and their son Brodie. Kathy enjoys horseback riding, crocheting, reading, and spending time outdoors. When she is not at work, she is busy farming. I enjoy all areas of working in a veterinary clinic. My favorite (if I had to pick!) would be dentistry. I enjoy seeing the difference before and after.

Pets

She has two dogs; Ellie Rose, an Australian Cattle Dog and Fritz, a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie cross. Two cats, Snickers and Zeke. She also has horses, beef cattle, chickens, and a rabbit!

Roxie joined us for her Veterinary Technician internship the summer of 2005, and began full-time at the internship's completion and her graduation from Ridgewater College's Veterinary Technician Program, with an AAS degree in Applied Science. She is also 'Fear Free' certified!

Areas of Interest

She one of our Certified Veterinary Technicians. Her family includes her husband, Skippy (Jamie) and their daughter Aubrie. In her free time, Roxie enjoys gardening, biking, reading, and spending time outdoors. Roxie's favorite aspects of veterinary medicine are dentistry, labwork and working with all of the feline friends.

She has four beautiful cats; Eddie, Apple, Izzy and Fluffy Fancy Boots.

Missy graduated from Minnesota School of Business in Waite Park, MN in 2009 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science. She received her Veterinary Technician Certification in January 2010. She is also 'Fear Free' certified!

She started at LVH in 2013. She loves shopping, playing volleyball, fishing and spending time with friends and family. She enjoys doing labwork at work.

She attended NDSU, where she received her Bachelor degree of Animal Science in Veterinary Technology in 2012. Laura joined our team in March of 2016. She is also 'Fear Free' certified!

Areas of Interest

Laura enjoys taking care of hospitalized patients, lab work and dental cleanings. She also enjoys reading, camping, and walking with her sweet and lovely dog Blue.

She has Blue, a Labrador Retriever and a cat named Bentley.

Jessi is a veterinary assistant who has been with us since the summer of 2011. Jessi is very well versed in the different breeds and is very knowledgeable in breeding/whelping. She enjoys riding horses, outdoors & showing dogs, which she is currently taking a break while her children are young

Dianna is one of our groomers, who joined Lakeland Veterinary Hospital in 1989 after graduating from the Twin Cities School of Pet Grooming. Dianna's interest include gardening, hiking, training and showing the dogs in obedience and agility. ''My job is so rewarding. I love that each day is different. Making each pet look their best and having such great customers!''

Julie is one of our groomers who joined Lakeland Veterinary Hospital in 1990 after graduating from the Twin Cities School of Pet Grooming. Her family includes her husband, Al and two adult children, Jenni & Eric. Julie enjoys gardening, riding her Harley with her husband Al, boating and snowmobiling in her free time. I enjoy the challenge of grooming a pet to make it look its best. Pet grooming is such a general term of all that is involved with my job. I have the opportunity to evaluate so many aspects of the pet such as skin condition, ears, eyes, teeth, feet, attitude and more.

Karen is our third groomer, who joined Lakeland Veterinary Hospital in 1988 after graduating from the St. Cloud School of Dog Grooming. Karen loves to spend her free time outside, including riding her horse, going to horse shows, camping and boating. Karen also loves to spend time Teddy and training him.

Her pets include her dog, Teddy - a Belgian Tervuren and her Bay Quarter horse, Sky.

Stormy Joined our team in November of 2015. She Enjoys gardening, swimming, yard games, crafts and spending time with her family, friends, and pets. Her favorite part of working at Lakeland is seeing all the different personalities in the animals.

Glenn has been working with us since 1991. Glenn is a sports fanatic!! He loves to golf. He also really enjoys gardening and going to watch his grandchildren participate in sports in school. Life at Lakeland wouldn't be the same without Glenn's hard work and wonderful/fun attitude!

If you have an after-hours emergency, please call our hospital at (218)829-1709 to have the on-call doctor paged. Lakeland Veterinary Hospital shares emergency call on a rotating basis with other local hospitals and AEVS in St. Cloud.
